Description
Still had all the layers I used so I decided to make a Step-by-Step.
I used Photoshop Cs6 for this c:
Step 1.
Sketch
Just a sketch I made on paper. I usually sketch, then correct everything on it and go on. I forgot it this time, that´s why the left leg looks a bit odd but it isn´t that tragic.
Step 2.
Lineart
I try to make the lineart look dynamic by using different brush sizes (I think I used sizes between 3 and 5 px). Also I alter and partly add stuff I didn´t like in the sketch.
Step 3.
Flat color
I first color the whole body, then I use clipping layer to color each part on its own (the design of the tattoo was changed a little). I also change the lineart color from black to dark purple, this way it doesn´t seem that hard and heavy.
Step 4.
Color detail
This step isn´t that necessary but adds something nice to the whole picture and makes it look more "realistic".
Step 5.
Shading
Simple as that, shadow is added. I used a purple color and a darker tone to add depth to it and turn the layer mode to multiply and the opacity to 50%. Then I duplicate the layer, blur it and turn the opacity to 20%.
Step 6.
More details
I add another layer on multiply and draw some details I coudn´t add with shadow by using a orange color and a 35% opacity.
Step 7.
Light and bouncing light
I draw light with a light yellow-orange color, no mode and 100% opacity, and the bouncing light with a cyan color, overlay and 60% opacity.
